Race Packs

If you entered before Wednesday 15th September, you will receive a race pack in the post. If you entered after this date, a pack will be waiting for you to collect on the day. If you are expecting a pack in the post and do not receive it by Friday 24th September, please contact us.If you are collecting your race pack, please make your way to the registration desks between the times below. It will take around 10 minutes to collect number and drop your bag off. The earlier you get there, the more efficient we will be on the day.
Collection Times:
Half Marathon & 10k – 7:30 – 8:30am
5k – 8:00 – 9:00am
Kids Race – 10:00 – 11:00amWe will have queue markers on the floor, so please ensure when queuing you are 2m from another runner.

When you receive your race packs, please take a couple of minutes to fill out the brief runner Information form which can be found printed on the back of your bib. This will help us greatly in case of an emergency!

 

Race Start 

Within the event village you will see the directional signage guiding to the start line. The start area will be marked out to help prepare you all into your start formations with help from the marshals. When arriving please familiarise yourself with the start area.

After the warm-up, estimated finish times will be called to the starting pen where our marshals will guide you into a start formation with runners keeping 2m apart as they start the race.

The Half Marathon & 10k will start outside the Golden Gates. For 5k runners, the start line is a short walk away, so please make sure you are ready 10 minutes before the race start so that our team can walk you to the start line.

Please listen closely to all marshal instructions and remember to keep a safe distance from the runners around you.

Travel

If driving to the event, please plan in advance as local parking options will fill up quickly. Please consider parking options within a mile of the Golden Gates and walk to the venue to avoid congestion. Please check the opening times of local car parks, as some may not be open.

Warrington Bank Quay rail station is just a few minutes walk from the event village is in on the Liverpool to Manchester line. Please check timetables and plan accordingly.

Toilets

There will toilets available within the event village.

Hygiene Stations

There will be multiple hygiene stations around the event village and start/finish area for all participants to use throughout the event. These will have hand sanitiser, tissue and bins for the disposal of any tissue or litter.

During the race

Starting and finishing at the Town Hall’s iconic Golden Gates, this new event has a road closed, flat and fast route that will provide the perfect opportunity to push yourself to a chip timed, personal best.

Spitting and nasal clearance during the race is NOT permitted.

Refreshments

There will be water stations on course as well as at the finish line. There will be water stations for the Half Marathon at miles 3, 6.5, 9 and 11.5. A water station will be located just before the 5k mark for the 10k race. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead up to the event.

Baggage

Please limit the number of belongings you bring to the event and if possible leave anything in a car.  This is in order to reduce contact between runners and staff. There will be an informal self-service bag drop area within the event village for runners who need it.

Spectators

Due to trying to limit the numbers gathering within the event village area, we please ask that you refrain from bringing spectators to the event.

COVID-19 NHS APP

We recommend downloading the NHS COVID-19 App onto your phone if you haven’t already before the race. Find out more HERE.

Free lateral flow tests are now being offered by the Government for everybody in the community to help stop the spread of COVID-19. These can even be ordered to your home, further information can be found HERE.

After the race

Do NOT stop within the finish area. Please continue through the finish until you pass the medals and are in an open space.

There will be sealed ACTIPH water bottles at the finish for each runner to collect along with your medal, Love Corn and Kind Snack bar which will be laid out on tables for you to help yourself.

If you have purchased an item of RT Kit with your race entry, please head to the RT Kit stall on the day of your race, with your email order confirmation and we will have your item ready for collection!

Results
Results will be available on www.warringtonrunningfestival.com after the race.

We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race and they will be on Facebook after the race so be sure to check it out and see if you can spot yourself.
